The Representative for Children and Youth and her team of advocates make sure that young people under the age of 19 who are receiving government services, including young people in care, are treated fairly and have their voices heard.

The Rep works for children and youth and her advocates can help if a young person who is living in a foster home, group home or youth custody facility feels they are being treated unfairly, or if they think they’re not being heard. The Rep and the advocacy team can also help youth who are receiving government services, or who want to receive government services.
The Rep believes:
Young people should be protected and feel safe
Young peoples' views should be listened to, especially when a decision is being made about them
Young people should get the services they need to do well
If you are a young person in B.C. and you have a problem getting the services you need or need help with the services you are getting, you can call the RepLine (1-800-476-3933) to speak to an advocate.
